Masego March - Tackling Youth Unemployment through ICT Training

- Published: 14 September 2016
Name: Masego March
Age: 19
Occupation: IT Technician
Masego March is a smart and ambitious 19 year old from Rabie Ridge, Johannesburg.
After completing her matric at Sandton View High School last year, Masego’s dreams for continuing her studies were crushed by her family’s inability to pay for high education. Only possessing a matric certificate, job hunting took its toll.
All that changed when she found out about the IT Training Scholarships offered by Change the World Trust, thanks to a strong partnership with Dell Development Fund.
“Change the World has opened doors and my life will forever be changed as a result of that. I have been taught to think differently, to value persistence, to be curious; my plan for my life has been changed as a result of what I have been exposed to during my ICT course training. I really am thankful for this wonderful program which has given more to me than these words suffice to say and for everyone who was a part of it. I earned distinctions of 78% in both PC Basics and IT Technician (Accredited by Cisco Academy).
Change the World Trust actively promoted us to get employment. They arranged an interview for me with Bytes Technology Group. This was a wonderful opportunity! Thanks to the business and working ethics coaching I received at Change the World, I aced the interview and I am currently enrolled in a one-year Technical Support learnership. I am inspired by the vision and service that drives Bytes Technology Group. Hearing executives present about its vision to be an industry leader in technology is teaching me the power of being bold and having foresight. I look forward to my goals for the future with this lesson in mind.
I would like to encourage all young unemployed people out there to apply for these scholarships: they will transform your life!”
Change the World Trust (CTW) is passionate about empowering young people with skills to find purposeful employment.
